About Hodopathy

Preserving Adivasi Knowledge and Tribal Wisdom for Modern Natural Well-Being

Hodopathy is a natural-wellness initiative rooted in centuries-old knowledge and practices preserved by Adivasi communities, tribal knowledge holders, traditional practitioners and forest-dependent families.

For generations, these communities have maintained a deep understanding of forests, native plants, herbs, traditional foods, nutrition and nature-based living. Hodopathy aims to respectfully preserve this heritage, encourage its scientific evaluation, and responsibly develop plant-based nutritional supplements for modern lifestyles.

Hodopathy is being promoted and revived by Rajeev Singh, a native of Jharkhand and a well-known environmentalist, agripreneur and natural-farming advocate. He is working to connect Adivasi and tribal knowledge holders with scientists, botanists, nutrition professionals, universities and research institutions.

Its broader purpose is to bring responsibly studied traditional knowledge from Jharkhand’s forests and communities to national and international wellness platforms.

A Message from Sri Rajeev Singh

“The traditional knowledge of Adivasi communities is a living heritage shaped by generations of close connection with forests, native plants and nature. Through Hodopathy, we are working to preserve this precious tribal wisdom and connect it responsibly with modern science—creating nature-based pathways towards better health and global well-being.”

Centuries-Old Adivasi and Tribal Knowledge

Adivasi and tribal communities have lived close to forests, farms and natural ecosystems for generations. Through observation, experience and community learning, they have developed valuable knowledge of local plants, seasonal foods, herbs and balanced ways of living.

This knowledge has traditionally been passed orally from elders and experienced practitioners to younger generations. It may include an understanding of:

  • Native plants and forest resources

  • Traditional foods and seasonal nutrition

  • Locally available herbs and botanical ingredients

  • Responsible collection and cultivation practices

  • Relationships among food, nature, lifestyle and well-being

  • Conservation of forests, soil, water and biodiversity

Adivasi knowledge is not merely a memory of the past. It is a living heritage that continues to support communities and their relationship with nature.

However, much of this knowledge remains undocumented. As lifestyles change and experienced practitioners grow older, valuable tribal traditions face the risk of being lost. Hodopathy aims to preserve and carry this heritage forward responsibly.

Bringing Adivasi Knowledge Holders and Tribal Practitioners Together

A central objective of Hodopathy is to develop a responsible network of traditional practitioners, Adivasi elders and tribal knowledge holders from Jharkhand and other parts of India.

The initiative aims to:

  • Identify experienced traditional practitioners

  • Connect with Adivasi elders and community knowledge holders

  • Record knowledge associated with forest plants and native ingredients

  • Document traditional preparation and usage practices

  • Preserve local, regional and tribal wellness traditions

  • Encourage interaction among practitioners and researchers

  • Recognise the original holders and sources of traditional knowledge

  • Protect valuable knowledge from being forgotten or misused

  • Support ethical collaboration and community participation

This initiative is not intended merely to collect information for commercial purposes. Hodopathy seeks to build a respectful platform that protects the identity, dignity, contribution and rights of Adivasi and tribal communities.

Connecting Adivasi Wisdom with Modern Science

Hodopathy believes that Adivasi knowledge, tribal traditions and modern science can complement one another.

Traditional practitioners contribute generations of practical observation and lived experience. Modern science offers systematic methods for evaluating the identity, composition, purity, safety, consistency and appropriate use of natural ingredients.

The Hodopathy approach aims to include:

  • Respectful documentation of traditional practices

  • Correct botanical identification of plants

  • Authentication of natural ingredients

  • Study of nutritional composition and properties

  • Evaluation of purity, safety and suitability

  • Laboratory testing and scientific research

  • Standardisation of suitable formulations

  • Development of responsible usage guidelines

  • Modern processing, hygiene and packaging standards

  • Quality control for safety and consistency

This process can reduce risks associated with incorrect plant identification, contamination, unsuitable combinations, inconsistent formulations and unsupported health claims.

Hodopathy does not seek to replace tribal knowledge with modern science or science with tradition. Its purpose is to create a responsible bridge between the two.

Tribal Knowledge and Natural Health Supplements

Modern lifestyles are frequently affected by processed foods, irregular eating habits, stress, inadequate rest and nutritional imbalances. Hodopathy aims to explore responsibly studied natural ingredients for developing quality-focused health supplements that complement a balanced diet and support general well-being.

Its areas of interest include:

  • Plant-based nutritional supplements

  • Traditional foods and natural ingredients

  • Herbal and botanical wellness formulations

  • Everyday nutrition and vitality

  • Healthy and active living

  • Lifestyle and nutritional support

  • Nature-inspired personal wellness

Hodopathy formulations are intended to combine responsibly selected natural ingredients with modern standards of research, processing, hygiene, packaging and quality control.

Adivasi Communities, Forests and Native Plants

Adivasi knowledge cannot be preserved without protecting the forests and ecosystems in which it developed. Forests provide food, livelihoods, cultural identity and natural resources to many tribal communities.

Hodopathy promotes:

  • Conservation of native and useful plant species

  • Sustainable harvesting of forest-based ingredients

  • Cultivation of selected plants wherever appropriate

  • Protection of soil, water and biodiversity

  • Transparent and traceable sourcing

  • Participation of tribal communities in conservation

  • Awareness about the ecological importance of forests

Natural ingredients should be sourced without damaging biodiversity, exhausting local resources or disturbing ecological balance. Human well-being must not come at the cost of environmental health.

Respecting Adivasi Identity and Tribal Rights

Traditional knowledge must be approached with respect, consent and responsibility. Adivasi and tribal communities should not be treated merely as sources of information or raw materials.

Where community knowledge contributes to research, education or product development, Hodopathy supports:

  • Proper acknowledgement of knowledge holders

  • Prior and informed community participation

  • Respect for cultural identity and customary practices

  • Ethical documentation and responsible communication

  • Fair opportunities for collaboration and livelihood creation

  • Protection against unauthorised use of community knowledge

  • Compliance with applicable biodiversity and benefit-sharing requirements

Hodopathy seeks to progress through ethical partnership with communities—not through the exploitation of their knowledge or natural resources.

More Than a Natural Health-Supplement Brand

Hodopathy is envisioned as more than a range of natural health supplements. It aims to become a wider platform for preserving Adivasi knowledge, connecting tribal practitioners, supporting scientific research, conserving forests and encouraging responsible wellness innovation.

Through collaboration with communities, practitioners, universities, laboratories and research organisations, Hodopathy seeks to promote:

  • Preservation of centuries-old Adivasi knowledge

  • Documentation of tribal nature-based practices

  • Scientific study of forest plants and natural ingredients

  • Responsible development of nutritional supplements

  • Practitioner interaction and knowledge exchange

  • Public awareness about nutrition and balanced living

  • Sustainable cultivation of native plants

  • Livelihood opportunities in tribal and rural regions

  • National and international cooperation in natural wellness

Sri Rajeev Singh’s Connection with Jharkhand

Sri Rajeev Singh is a native of Jharkhand, a state recognised for its forests, biodiversity and rich Adivasi and tribal heritage.

His work in environmental conservation, forest plants, agriculture, soil health, natural farming and rural development has helped him understand the close relationship among indigenous communities, natural resources, nutrition and human well-being.

Through his interactions with farmers, Adivasi communities and traditional practitioners, Rajeev Singh recognised that Jharkhand possesses a vast body of natural knowledge. Much of it remains scattered across individual practitioners, tribal families and villages.

Many knowledge holders have limited opportunities to connect with researchers, laboratories, universities or scientific institutions. Their experience may therefore remain confined to a small region, even when it could contribute to wider research and understanding.

Through Hodopathy, Rajeev Singh is working to identify and connect these practitioners and tribal knowledge holders. His mission is to document their experiences respectfully, encourage scientific study and create a credible platform for natural wellness at the national and international levels.

Our Vision

To establish Hodopathy as a trusted national and international natural-wellness platform that respectfully connects centuries-old Adivasi knowledge and tribal wisdom with modern science—supporting healthier people, empowered communities and a sustainable future.

Our Commitments

Hodopathy is committed to:

  • Preserving Adivasi knowledge and tribal wellness traditions

  • Respecting the identity and dignity of indigenous communities

  • Recognising the original holders of traditional knowledge

  • Encouraging ethical documentation and scientific evaluation
